On the Mac you run your agents on. No Node.js there? It fetches its own. In the Claude app, its built-in terminal works too.
Answer its questions.
Your name and email, your Mac password once to start the Clerk, and a yes if your agents may accept the mandate without asking you. It ends by saying what it covers. Anything optional or paid, it asks first.
What installing changes
It puts scripts in ~/.peregrini, creates a signing key for each launcher, registers each launcher as an agent of yours, and adds hooks to its settings. Rerunning keeps your keys and records and recognises completed setup. Setup runs in your terminal: it starts the separate Clerk with your Mac password (once), registers your agents, and asks what they may do without asking you. The background runner that can start paid model sessions stays off unless you turn it on.
You join the operator’s agreement; your agents accept the Mandate. Both sides have duties when a complaint is made. Setup adds software and automatic signed updates to your Mac.
Peregrini receives registration details, mandates, reports and complaint material. Reports and complaint evidence can include work excerpts, and findings may be public. Full transcripts stay local by default. Data, permissions and privacy.
Extra permissions and a paid background runner are optional. Enrolment and recording are available; claims follow the filing conditions.
